Karolina Wróbel
Ever since she has always been interested in life sciences and broadly understood human health. Therefore, after high school, she decided to begin studies in pharmacy at the Medical University of Warsaw, from which she graduated in 2016 with a specialization in Biotechnology in Health Care. During the studies, she had a short internship in a hospital pharmacy with aparenteral nutrition laboratory in Masovian Bródnowski Hospital in Warsaw. After graduation, for a short time, she was working in two private pharmacies in Warsaw however, as she said, she quickly realized that she misses working in a laboratory and she had a strong desire to develop within the field of science. She decided to complement her knowledge in a field of molecular biology by beginning the second master’s programme in biotechnology at the University of Warsaw. After a year, in 2017, she got recruited by prof. Andrzej Dziembowski to his research group as a PhD student. That was the beginning of her own scientific journey which she continues to this day and which has been for her a great experience and adventure at the same time. Her research interests include: RNA metabolism, double-stranded RNA, nucleocytoplasmic transport. Privately, Karolina is enthusiastic about traveling, music and snowboard.
