On January 18-21, Natalia Gumińska, member of the ERA Chairs Group took part in the training titled "An introduction to nanopore direct RNA sequencing", organized in WP2 task. The course was structured of theoretical and hands-on training and covered the majority of the concepts and challenges commonly faced when analysing direct RNA-Seq data. It started from common tasks such as data QC and gene expression quantification and then moved on to more advanced topics such as transcriptome assembly, polyA-tail length measurements and RNA modifications detection.

"I have learned a lot in terms of bioinformatic analysis and available toolsets. I gained knowledge about generating pipelines and basic bash scripting. I also got familiar with programs and scripts designed for advanced dRNA analysis", said Natalia summarizing the course.
