IIMCB had a pleasure to host the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki. The visit was related to the planned announcement of a competition organized by the Medical Research Agency (ABM) for funding of R&D projects focused on RNA technology for drug development. With PLN 300 million allocated to this call for proposals, the Polish government aims to accelerate the implementation of innovative RNA-based therapies (including the production of vaccines based on mRNA technology) and make them available to patients in Poland.

The press conference announcing the competition, was preceded by a meeting of the Prime Minister with Prof. Marta Miączyńska, IIMCB Director, Prof. Andrzej Dziembowski, Head of the Laboratory of RNA Biology - ERA Chairs Group and Prof. Gracjan Michlewski, Head of the Laboratory of RNA Protein Interactions - Dioscuri Centre. The meeting gave an opportunity to present the Prime Minister the Institute and its research on RNA.
